The children, a boy and a girl under the age of ten, were found dead in a terraced house in Södertälje at the end of April.
The man has previously been unpunished and has admitted to the acts during the course of the investigation.
Does not suffer from a serious mental disorder
According to the indictment, the crime was preceded by careful planning and was particularly reckless. The father is said to have planned the murders for over a month and used helium to suffocate the children to death.
The man has undergone a forensic psychiatric examination which has shown that he does not suffer from a serious mental disorder. Defense lawyer Mikael Westerlund has previously told TT that his client’s actions can be explained by a depression the man suffered from.
