(Finance) – The “Viaggia in Regionale” guide created by the Trenitalia brand and Lonely Planet with the aim of promoting intermodal and sustainable mobility was presented. The guide illustrates five itineraries in as many Italian territories, to discover culture, nature, beaches and food and wine. Tuscany Line, Trasimeno Line, Trabocchi Line, Salento Line and Taormina Line are the five regional lines affected by the initiative. The presentation took place in the presence of Maria Annunziata Giaconia, regional business director and intermodal development of Trenitalia, and Angelo Pittro, Italy director of Lonely Planet.
For each line, in addition to offering food and wine and nature experiences, the guide indicates the distances from the reference railway stations which can be covered by bicycle or on foot, but also through combined solutions such as train+bus, train+boat and train+funicular. The guide will be available in both paper and digital formats.
“This project is the result of an important and strongly desired partnership – declared Giaconia -, but which we could not approach without the revolution that began in 2018, thanks to the new trains put into circulation. Today we are in fact presenting reports that Regionale has already been carrying out for some time, but which we now wanted to make known through the eyes of travel experts, of those who know how to travel. In our revolution we want to be a guarantee for those who choose the train even in their free time”.
“The mission today is not only to inspire readers with new travel ideas, without going far”, added Pittro, but also to “show the way to travel in a less impactful way”https://www.Finance.it/DettaglioNews/ 213_2024-12-18_TLB/.”With this guide, which I hope is not the last – he concluded –, we leave a mark”.
