Who is it about? The Game Changer Award was presented for the first time at this year’s Game Awards. It is intended to honor people who have stood out through their positive involvement in the gaming industry. The first prize went to Amir Satvat.
He helped over 3,000 people find jobs in the gaming industry. To do this, he relied on his Excel skills, the ability to automatically read websites and his own contacts in the industry. He is currently working for the Chinese company Tencent.
While there were standing ovations at the awards themselves, he also seemed to struggle with a lot of negative feedback afterwards, as he now revealed. Since winning the award, he says he has been confronted with countless hate messages.

What kind of news is this? On December 17, 2024, Satvat spoke up on LinkedIn and spoke about the hate he is currently facing. He explains that since the Game Awards he has received countless hate messages that attack him personally. Some messages should also be aimed at his family. In the long post he also explains what the problem is. At the Game Awards themselves, it was never mentioned that he now works at Tencent. He once again clarifies that he started the community he built in November 2022. He didn’t start at Tencent until August 2023.
According to his own statements, he never had anything to do with acquisitions by Amazon or Tencent. He also never worked on waves of layoffs.
