Starting next year, Atlas will no longer be the most expensive sci-fi spectacle Netflix has ever put together in film form. This title then belongs to The Electric State by Anthony and Joe Russo (Averngers: Endgame), which now has one detailed trailer to examine:
The Electric State – Trailer (German) HD
Say and write $320 million is said to have cost the streamer’s sci-fi fun. Monets that not only go to the futuristic storm of effects, but also to the A-list cast, including Millie Bobby Brown (Stranger Things) and Chris Pratt (Jurassic World). By the way, filming was completed in 2022.
The Electric State: This is what the most expensive Netflix film to date is about
The sci-fi film is not set in the future of the USA, but in one alternative, retro-futuristic version of 1994. After a major robot uprising, the humans’ electronic servants were transported to a sealed off area called the Electric State. Teenager Michelle (Brown) is looking for her missing brother Christopher (Woody Norman) and on the dangerous journey to find him, she meets a mysterious robot and a drifter named Keats (Pratt) who wants to help her. Will it lead them to the robo-ghetto?
Ke Huy Quan also has other roles as Dr. Amherst, Stanley Tucci as Ethan Skate, Martin Klebba as Herman and Giancarlo Esposito as Colonel Bradbury.
The Electric State is based on that sci-fi novel of the same name * by the Swedish author Simon Stålenhag, who already provided the template for the Amazon series Tales From the Loop. The screenplay version comes from Narnia and Marvel duo Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely.
