Prof. Yüksel pointed out that eating habits have emotional aspects as well as physical needs. Explaining that fast food and unhealthy nutrition increases the fat tissue in the body and the sugar level in the blood, Yüksel stated that some molecules secreted from fat tissue cause negative effects on the brain and learning disorders.
“POT FOODS NEED TO BE MADE A HABIT AGAIN”
Stating that some substances in fast food foods encourage people to eat more, Yüksel said, “An almost addictive situation occurs. It is recommended that foods containing sweeteners should not be used as much as possible. Cooked dishes should be made a habit again.” he said.
Yüksel stated that healthy nutrition is important for brain and intestinal health.
“MEMORY PROBLEMS ARE EMERGING”
Emphasizing that fast food threatens human health, Yüksel shared the following information:
“These foods increase the fat tissue in our body. The more the amount of fat tissue increases, the more the amount of leptin (satiety hormone) secreted increases. This increased amount of leptin normally has to provide the necessary stimulus for the urge to feel full in our brain, but when the amount of leptin exceeds a certain level, satiety occurs.” We see that the center is not working, that is, our brain begins not to perceive the saturation signal.
Due to not perceiving it, our hunger state continues and we cannot reach a satiety state. In this case, we become more obese by continuing the eating habit. Cerebral functions may also be affected by this situation. Fast food type nutrition begins to cause learning disorders.
In addition, memory problems arise. “We can see that various neurological diseases, especially Alzheimer’s, begin to emerge due to the disruption of sugar metabolism.”
