Who owns Butterick’s?

Butterick’s has been around for over 120 years and is today partly owned by members of the Olander family. Board member is Bengt Olander who also used to be the CEO of the company. After 41 years as CEO, however, he handed over the baton to Therese Carlsson 2017.

– There is nothing dramatic behind it. I am getting older and the company needs to be rejuvenated. I will serve as acting chairman of the board going forward, Olander told the newspaper Market when he resigned.

Carlsson had then worked as business development manager at Butterick’s.

Therese Carlsson is CEO of Butterick’s

Therese Carlsson was born and raised in Halmstad and took over as CEO of Butterick’s in 2018.

– My best friend and classmate was one of the daughters of the owner family Olander, and it was through her that I first came into contact with Buttericks, Carlsson said in an interview with the newspaper Manager.

In a press release, the company writes that a tax deferral from the pandemic has expired, resulting in large tax payments. “Despite comprehensive measures, the liquidity situation has now become acute,” writes Butterick’s.

    – We are forced to go through a reconstruction process to save the business and lay a foundation so that we can continue to be a strong buyer of products and services from our important partners in the future. We have existed for 120 years and now we want to secure at least another 120 years as a party specialist, says CEO Carlsson in a press release in connection with the reconstruction.
