The new news about Kristine Stavå’s Skistad – worries are growing for the Norwegian

The mystery is always great around Kristine Stavås Skistad.
She was forced to turn down the last World Cup weekend in Davos.
Now there is new news that causes concern to grow for the Norwegian.

Before the ski season, the Norwegian was the sprint star Kristine Stavå’s Ski City the big contender against the Swedish ski ladies. But her start to the season has been ruined by stomach surgery just before the opening of the World Cup.

First she missed the premiere weekend in Ruka, to return to the starting line in Lillehammer but then she threw in the towel for the last sprint weekend in Davos. In her absence have Jonna Sundling dominated and already won three out of four sprint races this season.

Now there is new information about Stavås Skistad ahead of the Tour de Ski and it is causing concern for the Norwegian to grow. It is now clear that she will miss the entire mini-tour over Christmas and New Year.
“Kristine Stavås Skistad, on the other hand, is not among those selected by the Norwegian Skiing Association. She has had a difficult start to the season as a result of stomach surgery and also did not participate in the World Cup in Davos last weekend,” writes the Norwegian news agency NTB.

Johaug back

Nor Tiril Udnes Wengformer overall winner of the Tour de Ski is in the Norwegian squad. One that, however, makes a giant turn is Therese Johaugwho have now decided to compete in Italy’s Toblach and Val di Fiemme.

Therese Johaug has won the Tour de Ski three times in her career – 2014, 2016 and 2020. Also Heidi Weng and Johannes Hösflot Kläbo has decided to ride the mini-tour at the World Cup.

The Tour de Ski only has Italy as a competition location this year, on December 28 it starts in Toblach and then ends in Val di Fiemme on January 5.
