It is claimed that Apple is working on a giant-sized foldable iPad and may launch the device in 2028.
According to reliable Apple analyst Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, Apple has long been a huge foldable iPad developing the model. Gurman states that the device in question resembles a giant iPad that can be folded to the size of two iPad Pros side by side.
Invisible Wrinkles Aimed at Foldable iPad
One of Apple’s biggest goals for foldable devices is to eliminate the wrinkling seen in existing products. According to Gurman’s claim, Apple has made progress in this regard. An almost invisible wrinkle was obtained in the prototype device. However, it is not yet clear whether the wrinkle can be completely eliminated.
Gurman states that Apple is aware that consumers want to have the largest screen possible. He emphasizes that the only logical way to have a large screen (approximately 20 inches or more) in a mobile product is a foldable design.
Rumors that Apple is developing a foldable device are not new. In February, it was claimed that the company was working on two foldable iPhone models. In January 2023, a foldable iPhone that was likely to be released in 2024 was mentioned.
As rivals advance in the foldable device market, the risk of Apple being late increases. Products that almost completely eliminate wrinkles, such as the Huawei Mate XT, are already on the market. The longer Apple waits, the more likely its rivals will gain a formidable lead in the foldable device market.
