Still eagerly awaited by many gamers, the new Nintendo Switch 2 has seen its design completely leaked by sites specializing in accessories for the console.
While its official announcement is not expected before the start of 2025, the new Nintendo Switch is revealed almost entirely on the web. This is due in particular to several accessory manufacturers who have unveiled several cases and other tools to accompany the release of the next Nintendo console.
Internet users obviously jumped at the opportunity to discover the design of the new Nintendo Switch 2. We discover a new device which is reminiscent of the first version of Nintendo’s hybrid console, but with some small improvements that are already notable and a wider template.

Some talk about a button to connect to an external screen while others talk about an eject button for Joy-Con controllers.
Concerning the screen of the new Nintendo Switch 2, the console would have an 8-inch LCD panel. So no OLED screen planned! This could allow Nintendo to offer an OLED version within a few years and thus revive interest in the console on the market.
The cartridge drive looks exactly the same as the first Nintendo Switch, which would ensure you can enjoy older games on the new upcoming console.
The new dock would be much smaller than the first model. Finally, the new Nintendo Switch 2 would have two USB ports, where the first version only had one.
A rising price for the new Nintendo Switch 2?
All these little new features concerning the new Nintendo Switch 2 risk having an impact on one very important factor: its price. At present, no official information has been confirmed on the subject.
However, the various leaks and rumors indicate a price of around $399 in the United States. Adding the various European taxes, it’s a safe bet that the Nintendo Switch 2 costs a little more than 400 euros in France.
A release date for the new Nintendo Switch 2
For the moment, the new Nintendo Switch 2 does not benefit from any release date other than a vague “early 2025”. The various information leaks, however, suggest an official presentation during the month of January, but this data should be taken with a pinch of salt. There is also mention of a new Mario Kart 9 to accompany the launch of the console which should provide official news in the coming weeks.
