With 20 seconds left and the score 103-99 advantage Nässjö against Jämtland, the latter signaled for a timeout – which was wrongly denied.
Now the match will be replayed. The competition committee writes:
“That the commissioner’s mistake is a rule error that affects the decision of the match.”
The so-called commissioner, the confederation’s representative who is supposed to ensure that regulations are followed, informed the refereeing team that Jämtland had already used all their time-outs – which the team had not.
Jämtland filed a protest, which has now been heard and the match is replayed in accordance with the regulations.
– Non-serious. Unprofessional. Extremely bad, says Rajacic and continues:
– Do we want a serious league or not? I think the best thing would have been to admit that of course it’s a big mistake but we shouldn’t replay a whole match.
The expert instead suggests replaying the match from the time when Jämtland was denied a timeout.
The match ended 105-99 to Nässjö.
A date for the replay has not yet been set.
