Stina Nilsson’s strong confession after the debut in the new sport

Stina Nilsson has made her debut in her new sport long distance.
And it was an immediate success for the 31-year-old over the weekend.
Now Stina comes with a strong confession after the first competition.

After four tough years in biathlon, Stina Nilsson found back to joy again. The Swede finally made his debut in his new sport of long-distance running this weekend and what a dream start it was.

Nilsson’s successful debut

After cross-country skiing and biathlon, Nilsson competes in long-distance races this winter, and then it’s Ski Classics. During the weekend, it was the competition premiere in Bad Gastein, Austria.

On Sunday, Stina Nilsson was responsible for a powerful recovery when she was 53 seconds behind third place with just over a mile left in the long race. She managed to eat up the entire lead and salvage a very strong podium in her “real” debut.

Stina with confession

Stina was of course very proud after the effort and finally got to experience something she had missed in recent years.
– When you feel that your body is working so well before a final lap, then something happens to you, she says in an interview with SVT.
– Then I enter a zone that I enjoy very, very well and it’s just hunting. I’ve missed being able to do that and feel that feeling, so much fun.

The 31-year-old has really found the right footing in his new sport of long-distance running, and this successful debut gives great faith in the future.
– It is for experiences like this that I train and compete. To be able to create memories of wonderful experiences in the track and this is a memory that I will carry with me, she tells the TV channel and tells the best part of her new skiing venture.
– The freedom to train exactly as I want and what I believe in.

The transition from biathlon to cross-country skiing is of course big, but Nilsson has really given everything to find the joy of skiing again.
– There has not been a single session this summer that I have felt unmotivated. And then it becomes easy for me to be more motivated than what certain parts of my body can actually tolerate, such as tendons and ligaments. There have certainly been times when I have felt that I have gone a little too hard, but have still managed to balance it with the help of experiences in the team, says Stina in a strong confession.
