“Family time” takes the audience to a Finnish family Christmas

“Family time” (original title Mummola), which has won several film awards in different countries, is Tia Kouvo’s first feature film direction.

The drama comedy was awarded, for example, at the Finnish film industry’s Jussi gala in 2024. “Family time” won the Jussi award for best film, best screenplay and best director. “Family time” has also been chosen as Finland’s candidate for the Academy Award for best international film.

The depiction of family relationships touches viewers

Tia Kouvo, who has directed and written “Family time”, says that she has also received positive feedback from the audience in the form of messages and letters.

– They have seen something in the film that is very important to them and something that also affects their families and experiences. It’s been absolutely amazing, because I’ve made this film especially for Finns, Kouvo told Uutiset.

In the film “Family time”, Ria Kataja, Elina Knihtilä, Leena Uotila, Tom Wentzel and Jarkko Pajunen play the main roles. The film premiered in Finland already last year and in Sweden on December 13.
