The second day of the Champions Cup was once positive for French clubs.
Great second day of the Champions Cup for French clubs. Bordeaux Bègles opened the ball by crushing Ulster on its lawn to take control of the group thanks in particular to its Bielle Biarrey rocket. In the same group, what can we say about the new recital of the Toulousains who had fun on the lawn of the English of Exeter 61-21. In pool 2, the step was too high for Clermont, beaten with honors on the Leinster pitch while La Rochelle did the job against Bristol. Great feat for Castres who won at home against Munster while Racing stumbled on the Sale pitch. A step which was also too high for the Stade Français beaten by the multiple European champions Saracens. Finally, Toulon was received 2/2 after its victory against Glasgow 30-29.
In total, 24 clubs are involved and divided into four groups of six. 16 teams will aim for the round of 16, in this case the four best ranked in each group. Each team fifth in its group will be transferred to the round of 16 of the Challenge Cup and the sixth will be eliminated. Important detail, two teams from the same league cannot compete against each other. For example, Union Bordeaux Bègles placed in pool A cannot face Stade Toulousain. Eight French clubs are involved in this Champions Cup, here are the groups:
