Imat al-Duleymi, District Governor of the Rutba district in Iraq’s Anbar province on the Syrian border, announced that 2,100 soldiers of the Syrian army fled to Rutba after the overthrow of the Bashar Assad regime.
ASSAD’S SOLDIERS ARE RUNNING AWAY
With the overthrow of the Bashar Assad regime in Syria, regime soldiers continue to flee to Iraq. In his statement, Imat al-Duleymi, District Governor of the Rutba district of Anbar province on the Syrian border of Iraq, stated that 2 thousand 100 soldiers of the Syrian army took shelter in the district.
THEY WERE PLACED AT THE AIRPORT
Providing information about the situation of the soldiers in question, al-Duleymi stated that the soldiers were placed at Marsanat Airport, 70 kilometers from the Rutba district. Stating that the escaped soldiers were sheltering in tents and that there were insufficient electricity, water and heating facilities in the region, al-Duleymi stated that most of the escaped soldiers wanted to return to their countries.
