Pralines with alcohol have long been a controversial topic in Sweden. One of the most controversial events occurred ten years ago when Aladdinash took away the triple nut and cherry in liqueur pralines, which created protests among the Swedes.
– We knew that triple nut and cherry in liqueur were beloved chocolates, but we never imagined these reactions, said Henrik Helander, former marketing manager for Aladdin, to Today’s Industry.
Today, however, pralines with alcohol still remain in the Aladdin’s box, such as the liqueur truffle and rum raisin.

Large amounts are required to reach the drink driving limit
According to calculations, a man weighing 84 kilos can eat approximately 51 alcohol-filled pralines, which corresponds to around 410 grams, before the blood alcohol level reaches the drink-driving limit. Women with a weight of 67 kilos can make do with 34 pralines, which is around 270 grams. However, this assumes that the pralines are eaten in one go to give a lasting effect. If you eat them over a longer period of time, the alcohol is broken down faster by the body.
Hunter Abbottalcohol expert and adviser to the UK’s Transport Safety Council, has analyzed the figures.
– You need to eat large amounts of pralines to be in the risk zone for drunk driving. But it is always best to avoid driving if alcohol has been consumed, even in small amounts, he says The World of Technology.
