1. The A fund is based on your income
From 1 October 2025, the social security fund will be based on your income and not on how long you have worked. The new ceiling is also raised to SEK 34,000 a month, compared to the previous SEK 33,000. For the long-term unemployed, however, the compensation is reduced faster than before. At the same time, more people who previously did not have the right to social security will be given the opportunity for financial support if they had at least SEK 11,000 in income over four months.

3. The possibility to pause your occupational pension
From 1 January 2025, it will also be possible to pause payments of the occupational pension. This is an advantage for you who have started working again and want to avoid your total income becoming so high that you are forced to pay state tax. By pausing the payments, you can lower the tax and get a higher pension when you choose to activate it again.
