United Way Perth-Huron is celebrating a successful Smile Cookie Campaign with nearly $12,500 in donations from local Tim Hortons locations. The campaign, which ran from Nov. 18 to Nov. 24, saw the three Stratford Tim Hortons restaurants donate 50 per cent of the $1.50 cookies sold over that week to United Way to support its work addressing mental health and well-being in the area .

“We’d like to thank Lisa MacDonald, owner of the Tim Hortons on Ontario and Erie streets, Megan Adair, co-owner of the Huron Street location with Mark and Cheryl Moore, their staffs, the volunteers who helped decorate cookies and all the people who bought them,” said campaign co-chair John Wolfe in a press release.
“Mental health and well-being are important issues locally, and it’s great to see the community coming together to help make sure people can get the support they need when they’re facing challenges,” Wolfe added.
In total, the three Tim Hortons locations in Stratford raised $24,998.90, which was split equally between the United Way and Tim Hortons Foundation Camps.
“United Way and their team of volunteers were great partners during the Holiday Cookie Campaign,” added MacDonald and Adair in the release.
