Will it snow on Third Advent SMHI responds

Earlier in the week, SMHI issued a warning of sudden ice slippage in the central parts of Sweden. The warnings apply until Saturday, when rain is expected to change to snowfall in several parts of the country.

But where in Sweden will it snow during the third advent?

This is what the weather will be like on the third Advent

News24 have contacted SMHI to find out who can get a white third advent.

– During Saturday, a low pressure will pass over the middle parts of the country, explains Linnea Rehn Wittskogmeteorologist on duty at SMHI, and continues:

– On Sunday morning, this low pressure is approximately at the Baltic Sea and will cause quite a lot of clouds and snow showers over Uppland, Roslagen, Gävleborg and the Norrland coast.

In other parts of the country, on the contrary, it may be sunny with clear skies.

– In other parts of the country it will clear up and in large parts of Götaland and Västra Svealand it may be sunny. But even if you have had sun during the day, it will later become cloudy.

The snow will arrive here on Sunday evening

Elsewhere, the temperature drops.

– At the top of northern Norrland, it can get quite cold in the morning, towards minus 25 degrees.

Snow is expected to fall during the evening of the third Advent.

– On Sunday evening, snowfall will move in over the western parts of Norrland and northwestern Svealand. There may also be snow showers in eastern Svealand. On the coast it will instead rain, concludes Rehn Wittskog.
