Worried about release date
On the subreddit r/CrimsonDesert the mood could be better after the trailer. Fans are discussing the announced release window in a thread. Some would have liked a specific date, others don’t think Pearl Abyss will make it to 2025. Players are also worried that Crimson Desert will share the stage with GTA 6 if there are further delays.
Why is Crimson Desert so exciting? The Pearl Abyss project, first hinted at in August 2017 and specifically presented in November 2019, caught the MeinMMO editorial team’s positive eye early on, and not just because of the stylish graphics and dynamic battles.
Pearl Abyss has made a name for itself especially with Black Desert, which has many fans due to the powerful combat feeling and the beautiful game world. Crimson Desert was originally also intended to be an MMORPG and focus on comparable strengths.
During development, however, the developers explained that Crimson Desert will not be an MMORPG after all, but will have a strong focus on the single-player campaign in a huge, open world, with optional multiplayer content, similar to Red Dead Redemption 2 or the GTA series.
The setting and the characters were reminiscent of Game of Thrones with their western look. The main character resembled Jon Snow. Anyone who wants to find out whether this ambitious mix is fun will only have to wait another year – assuming there is no postponement.
