Ice hockey player Patrick Laine returned to the NHL arena a week ago after a long break. In his fifth game of the season, he was part of an ugly seeding as the visiting Pittsburgh Penguins crushed the Montreal Canadiens 9–2.
At the same time, Pittsburgh was responsible for the loudest goal celebrations of the season so far. No other team has been able to score nine goals in the same match this season.
Laine got 16 minutes of playing time against the Penguins. His +/− balance dropped a couple of degrees to the minus side.

Crosby, who has represented the Penguins his entire career, has covered a total of 1,024 assists in the regular season. Above are only Ray Bourquee (Boston), Wayne Gretzky (Edmonton), Steve Yzerman (Detroit) and Mario Lemieux (Pittsburgh).
Lemieux, who holds the streak record, is only nine passes away. Crosby has won three Stanley Cups with Pittsburgh: in 2009, 2016 and 2017.
Joel Armia accounted for Montreal’s second hit. The goal was his fourth of the season.
Laine has scored three goals and one assist in five matches.
First win for Annus
The Edmonton Oilers also scored goals, when the sensational team Minnesota at the beginning of the season lost 1-7 in Edmonton’s handling. Kasperi Kapanen scored his second hit in an Oilers jersey.
Traded from Colorado to Nashville Justus Annunen in turn rejected his first victory in the new club.
Nashville, which had a rough start to the season, defeated top team Dallas 4–1. Annunen made 35 saves.
