“We will stop TPMP… for a weekend”: Cyril Hanouna promises that his show will continue and gives a date

We will stop TPMP… for a weekend Cyril Hanouna promises

The shutdown of C8 on TNT was confirmed by Arcom this Thursday. The channel will leave TNT at the end of February 2025. But Cyril Hanouna reassured his fans: Touche Pas à Mon Poste will resume on a new channel.

The future of TPMP had been on hold for several weeks, following Arcom’s shock announcement this summer to withdraw its frequency from the C8 channel. While the audiovisual policeman confirmed his decision this Thursday, December 12 and all appeals from C8 and the Canal+ group have been exhausted, the fate of Don’t Touch My Post is now sealed. But its disappearance is anything but certain.

Many viewers have been wondering for weeks about the future of C8’s flagship show, hosted since 2010 by Cyril Hanouna. After Arcom’s confirmation this Thursday, many feared (or were impatient) to see the sulfurous talk show, which had become a real daily meeting place for millions of fans, disappear. But the star host decided to put an end to speculation yesterday.

During the show on Wednesday, December 11, broadcast live, “Baba” wanted to reassure his fans by promising that TPMP “would survive”. “Know that on February 27, we will stop TPMP… for a weekend, to resume on March 3,” he announced with bravado. And Cyril Hanouna continues to boast: “If you had planned to go on vacation in March, cancel!” The host also reassured his collaborators, ensuring that they would keep their positions “because if I continue, obviously, they will continue. I am not going to take the camera myself.”

A date, but no channel yet for TPMP in 2025

Cyril Hanouna, however, did not give more details on the methods of broadcasting TPMP from March 3. He simply indicated that he was “seeing where” his baby would land, by working “with the big bosses” of the chains. The Canal+ group is obviously at the top of the list to host the show, especially since four of the group’s pay channels, including Canal+ itself, will also leave DTT very soon.

However, some analysts believe that the transition to paid broadcasting could constitute a major challenge, even for Cyril Hanouna who can count on a large community of “fanzouzes”. There were also rumors of the possibility of moving the show entirely to the Web next year.

One thing is certain in any case: TPMP on TNT, it’s over. The show, which attracts up to 1.5 million viewers each evening, a record for this strategic time slot, will have to survive elsewhere. “TNT will unfortunately go under with rotten channels arriving, we are not going to lie,” concluded Cyril Hanouna, as modest as ever, according to comments cited by Le Figaro. “It pains me, but us darlings will already be far away.”
