Atlético Madrid was able to count on a double from Antoine Griezmann to beat Slovan Bratislava (3-1) in the Champions League, at the Wanda Metropolitano.
After scoring a first goal with a header in the first period (42nd), the former French international sealed the victory for the “colchoneros” by scoring the last goal of the match (57th). “The Champions League is complicated, goals count for a lot,” commented Griezmann after the match.
The world champion, in sparkling form, scored his second double in two matches, after that against Sevilla on Sunday in La Liga, where he had already offered victory to the Madrilenians by scoring a goal at the very end of the match.
