Three murders in one day in the Stockholm area – the Court of Appeal establishes long prison sentences

In both shootings there were children in the house and in the one at Telefonplan a mother and a child were injured.

The prosecutor has said that the murders are connected to gang crime, but that none of the victims are connected to gang crime. In the villa in Tullinge lives a famous artist who is related to a person who, according to SVT’s information, is connected to the so-called Zero network.

– The victims of these acts of violence are, as far as I can judge, completely innocent families with children. In one of the families, there is a connection in the form of kinship with a criminal person, senior prosecutor Helena Nordstrand previously told SVT.

Unique sentence: “Exceptionally serious crime”

Among other things, a 16-year-old boy was charged with the murders and a then 15-year-old was charged with having ordered the murders.

The shooter from Linköping, who is now 17 years old, was sentenced in the district court to prison for 12 years. The now 16-year-old instigator was sentenced to 10 years. The sentence was unique because of such long prison terms for such young people. Something that drew strong criticism from the 16-year-old’s defense lawyer, who appealed to the Court of Appeal.

– It is proof of what I have been worried about for a long time, that the courts are influenced by the political pressure to impose stricter sentences for young people in the wave of violence, said lawyer Kristofer Stahre after the district court’s verdict.

The Court of Appeal confirms the sentence against the teenage boys. They agree with the district court regarding the prison sentence, but deduct two months for the time they spent in detention with restrictions.

– These have been exceptionally serious crimes, characterized by total indifference to other people’s lives. The crimes have been so serious that the 15-year-old instigator of the crimes and the 16-year-old shooter, despite their young age, are sentenced to long prison terms, says the court’s president, Court of Appeals Councilor Kerstin Elserth.

22-year-old was sentenced to 16 years in prison – released completely

In the district court, a 22-year-old man was convicted of aiding and abetting the shootings and aiding and abetting arson, he was jailed for 16 years. He is completely acquitted in the Court of Appeal, which believes that the prosecutors were unable to prove intent to commit a crime.

The Court of Appeal also upholds the sentence against a 16-year-old girl, who was then 15, who was convicted in the district court of aiding and abetting the shootings. She receives closed youth care for two years.
