The highly anticipated remake of Croc: Legend of the Gobbos, released for PS1 in 1997, was postponed to 2025 shortly before launch.
According to a recent statement by Argonaut Games, the remastered version of Croc: Legend of the Gobbos has been postponed to the first quarter of 2025. The release date of the game, which was originally planned to be released this month for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC, was moved between January and March. The reason for the delay was stated as Argonaut Games wanting to further develop the game before releasing it.

Croc: Legend of the Gobbos was released for PlayStation in 1997 and was one of the prominent productions among platform games. After 27 years, when the remake of the game for modern platforms was announced, many players were excited.

Argonaut Games’ statement included the following statements: “After careful consideration, we have decided to postpone the launch to the first quarter of 2025. This decision was not made lightly, but we believe that we need a little more time to put the final touches on the game. After 27 years of waiting, especially “As the holiday season approaches, we understand this news may be a bit disappointing, but our goal has always been to deliver a game with a level of quality and polish that will truly delight you.”
Although it’s disappointing that the remake of Croc: Legend of the Gobbos has been delayed so late, there are other classic PlayStation games available to play in December. For example, a remake of an iconic trilogy from the PS2 era for PS5 and PS4 will also be released this month.
