In 2018, there was a crisis in Swedish homes, the O’boy was over.
Therefore, it was the O’boy crisis in 2018
Demand was so high that several customers started selling O’boy powder on auction sites, so that desperate customers could shop and get a glass despite the shortage.
– People are crazy when it comes to sugar. Some will pay anything for O’boy apparently, Patrik Lundgren, who was one of those who took the opportunity to sell his stock of the classic drink, said to SVT at the event.
When the O’boy crisis took place in 2018, it was due to a technical problem with the manufacturer.

Therefore the O’boy is out again
Now seems to be the time again. In more and more stores, the shelves are empty and the O’boy is out of stock almost everywhere.
The manufacturer Mondelez tells P4 Kalmar that the shortage of O’boy is due to “a temporary shortage of cocoa beans at one of our suppliers”.
The hope is that the shortage will not be as great as last time, but there is a shortage in stores all over the country. In one of the many Coop stores, the shelves echo empty, which Norra Skåne wrote more about.
– We found out that it would be like this last week, it was our supplier who told us about it, says Andreas Sjöstrand, the store manager at Coop in Broby, to the newspaper Norra Skåne.
Then the O’boy returns to the shops
If all goes well, the O’boy powder should be back on the shelves again by the end of the month.
– As it looks now, we will be able to deliver again from week 51 onwards, says Mondelez P4 Kalmar.
