The Thing Remastered Released on Digital Platforms

Horror classic The Thing has been digitally released by Nightdive Studios for PS2 with revamped visuals, 20 years after its original release.

Nightdive Studios unexpectedly released the renewed version of the 2002 game, inspired by John Carpenter’s cult horror film The Thing, on digital platforms. In addition to improving the visuals of the original game, The Thing: Remastered also offers achievement and trophy support on PlayStation and Xbox platforms.

Players Role as the Leader of the Special Forces Rescue Team

In The Thing: Remastered, players take on the role of Captain JF Blake, the leader of a US Army Special Forces rescue team sent to investigate the events of the film. Players face a variety of terrifying monsters, from scurrying spider-headed creatures to human-like walkers to massive multi-armed bosses. The game also deals with the fact that one of the team members managed by the players may be an alien imitator and the atmosphere of paranoia and distrust created by this situation.

The remaster version includes enhanced models, textures, animations, lighting and atmospheric effects via Nightdive Studios’ custom KEX Engine. Visual quality up to 4K 120FPS is offered on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The game includes elements such as 11 scary levels, team management of 4 people consisting of soldier, doctor and engineer classes, gaining the trust of team members and managing their fears. Achievement and trophy support is also available on Steam, PlayStation and Xbox platforms.

The Thing: Remastered promises an unforgettable experience with its atmosphere full of fear and tension, rich content and renewed graphics. It stands out as a production that should not be missed for fans of the movie and horror game lovers.
