The seven municipalities that together form the Regional Energy Strategy Amersfoort (RES Amersfoort) submitted a plan to the province this summer to generate 500 gigawatt hours (GWh) of sustainable electricity from 2030. Almost half of this must come from windmills on the Leusderheide and the Vlasakkers, near Soesterberg.
