Albert Dumoulin, 72, was arrested Nov. 21 and charged with sexual assault, sexual exploitation, sexual exploitation of person with a disability, and making sexually explicit material available to child. The identity of the complainants is covered by a publication ban and their names are redacted in public court documents.
The alleged incidents took place between January 2022 and August 2024, records show.
Dumoulin, who turns 73 later this month, made a handful of appearances in court from the Sarnia Jail before getting out on $1,000 bail on Nov. 29. But he’ll only have to pay the money if he’s caught breaking any of the rules.
They include a ban on talking to three people or being within 25 meters of them or where they live, work or go to school. He also can’t be alone with any person under age 16 or go to a public park, swimming pool, daycare, school, playground or community center where people under 16 might be unless he’s with his safety. Additionally, he’s banned from having any weapons.
The reasons Dumoulin got bail, along with any evidence about the case and information about him heard during his bail hearing, are covered by a publication ban that will be in effect until his trial is over. He’s due back in court on Jan. 23. The charges haven’t been tested in court.
In addition to Sarnia, Dumoulin also appears to have ties to Montreal, according to his Facebook pages.
