According to witnesses, the man is said to have, among other things, “laid the spoon” with the student during a rest period and also touched the student in an inappropriate way. He also allegedly kissed the student on the neck in front of his colleagues on a playground. The incidents have been reported to the police and a preliminary investigation into sexual abuse of children is underway.

Got a new job the next day
Despite the serious accusations and dismissal, the man got a new job as a teacher at a school in Mölndal – the day after he was fired.
Julia Eiselehead of unit at Mölndal municipality, explains that they followed their recruitment routines, but that they did not make their own checks with the neighboring municipality about the man’s previous employment.
– We have done what is part of our recruitment process, but we can learn from this, she says The Express.

Covered previous employment
The man, who worked at a total of 16 primary schools this year, had omitted in his application all employment he had had since August 2022, and instead provided references from several years ago. He also claims that the accusations against him are groundless and that the colleagues at the school in Gothenburg “conspired” to put him there.
Mölndal municipality has now chosen to terminate the man’s employment. During the four weeks he worked in Mölndal, no reports of similar abuses have been received.
