The museum asked students from Utrecht University of Applied Sciences in Amersfoort to think about how the open day could attract more visitors aged 18 to 35. “We want to get young people, who are more often concerned with themselves than with their environment, out of their bubble,” says Bruinvels. “Not just taking in the world through a screen, but visiting these kinds of authentic places of collective suffering. Then you see it, then you feel it, then you start thinking about it.”
