The series The Rookie quickly became a hit in 2018 and the triumph doesn’t seem to be slowing down. In the second season Dr. Grace Sawyer introduced a character who was originally supposed to be there for two episodes. But the popularity of the character played by Ali Larter ensured that she was allowed to appear in a total of 13 episodes. A return of the character would be desirable for many fans, but has this hope the actress rebuffed.
The Rookie star Ali Larter is busy with another series
Ali Larter is now starring in Landman alongside Billy Bob Thornton. The series is filmed in Texas, which has given the actress a new perspective. In a recent interview with MovieWeb, she talked about her new series and her experience with The Rookie. She made it clear that a return to the latter is not very interesting for her:
It’s interesting, you know, ever since we left Hollywood, the idea of wanting to work in this kind of television, no longer so tempting for me. It was really great in Texas [für Landman] to work and do something very special.
At the same time, she is happy about the experience she had with The Rookie and working with Nathan Fillion.

Landman is the new series from Taylor Sheridan, who previously scored a big hit with Yellowstone. The new drama series is about oil trading in modern Texas. Crisis manager Tommy Norris (Billy Bob Thornton) has to navigate various complex problems. At the same time, he looks after his 17-year-old daughter Ainsley (Michelle Randolph), whose mother Angela (Ali Larter) he is divorced from.
When is The Rookie season 7 coming?
The 7th season of The Rookie starts on January 7, 2025 in the USA on ABC. There is currently no German start date. We don’t expect it before summer 2025.
