Cross-country running: The favorite kept up the pressure – Sarah Lahti the best Swede in the cross-country EC

Lahti ran in a time of 26.16 and was never quite close to fighting for medals.

– It feels fantastically fun. I finally felt that I got what I wanted today, so I’m really happy with my seventh place, says the 29-year-old to SVT Sport.

The 29-year-old runner has had a tough time behind him. Sarah Lahti had problems with the hamstring muscle in the back of her thigh and was forced to have an operation, causing her to miss this summer’s Olympics and European Championships.

– It was a really tough year so I’ve been unlucky. I finally feel like I’m on the right track.

The silver went to the German Konstanze Klosterhalfen. Home jump, Turkey’s Yasemin Can secured bronze.
