“We will have a concert together”

The autumn idol journey ends tonight and either Minou Nilsson, 18, Joel Nordenberg, 21, or Margaux Flavet, 16 – will be the winner of Idol 2024.
– Someone will stand there as the winner, but it feels like everyone has won, says idol finalist Joel Nordenberg.

Idol also celebrates 20 years in the box and therefore a bunch of old colleagues will celebrate together with Pär Lernström. Not least David Hellenius, who led the first idol season in 2004. But the main characters are of course the finalists who fought their way from competition to competition to get to the final, and the emotions before the evening’s performances crackle.

I haven’t realized that it’s the final today, says idol finalist Margaux Flavet.

It’s sad that it’s over at the same time as it’s fun because now everything else begins, says idol finalist Minou Nilsson.

It feels like I’ve lived two different lives. My former self has been put in a different kind of world, says idol finalist Joel Nordenberg.

Tears and gratitude

It was an emotional semi-final that led to Stockholmers Joel Nordenberg, Margaux Flavet and Minou Nilsson progressing to the final. The gratitude, tears and joy were great. And before they will now face each other again, the feeling of community is actually the greatest.

It feels like we should have a concert together. Someone will stand there as the winner, but it feels like everyone has won, says Joel.

I’m not much of a winner. Now maybe it’s different but usually I’m not, says Minou.

It would have been incredible to win, I had won for everyone who believed in me and proved that dreams can come true, says Margaux.

Remember back on the idol trip

Making it to the idol finals is like a long journey. A journey that usually artists don’t go through. It is special for several reasons and according to Joel because it resembles a school.

It feels like you went to a school. For an artist, it may take ten years to become who you are, but here you have received everything in such a short time, like an intensive course for artists, says Joel.

For Margaux, it has been special because she has been open and talked about her autism.

I never thought I would dare to do that. But now I’ve done it and received so many nice comments, she says.

While Minou was happy that the development went in the right direction.

I’ve had problems with my stage language but it slowly but surely developed every Saturday, she says.

Then the final will be broadcast

An intense week of rehearsals will, as usual, result in three songs. A song they sang earlier in the season, one they choose all by themselves and then the winning song “I’ll Write Your Name Across The Sky”. The winner picks up a music contract with Universal music and a place as a participant in the Diggiloo tour, plus a lot of marketing worth SEK 1.5 million and a specially written song by the idol jury. The final will be broadcast on Saturday 7 December at 20:00 on TV4 and TV4 Play.
