In this Saturday’s supplement, Great weekend report is entirely devoted to the capital, Paris. In the first part, the Champs-Élysées, the prestigious avenue. And, in the second part, the Notre-Dame de Paris cathedral which rose from its ashes after the fire of 2019, and reopens this weekend to the public. The event will be broadcast on our channels.
The Champs-Élysées, behind the scenes of the most beautiful avenue in the world
Paris knows how to shine with 1,000 lights. On the political side, not always. Some tumults sometimes of course… but: the Olympic Games yesterday, Notre-Dame resurrected tomorrow, some sparkles remain… The glitter of the Champs-Élysées is already lighting up Christmas. The Champs-Élysées, the most beautiful avenue in the world… Where does this statement come from when we ultimately know that Parisians shun it and that only tourists seem to rush there to take photos or visit the luxury stores?
The avenue has not always been prestigious. But, always, on the other hand, it seems to have been erected as a symbol of celebration of all kinds, people party there and demonstrate there.
A great report from Laura Taouchanov who interviews Jacques Allix.
Notre-Dame de Paris: from ashes to resurrection
Opening of Notre-Dame of Paris this weekend. A bet launched by Emmanuel Macron in which many did not believe, but which was kept: 5 years after the fire which ravaged it and dismayed the whole world, the Cathedral was restored. The mammoth work brought together 2,000 people and 250 companies. A look back at these five years of extraordinary construction which was not without difficulties, but where fervor and emotion were always there.
A great report by Muriel Maalouf Who talks with Jacques Allix.
