This happened with the small MMORPGs:

  • With Tarisland, the Chinese gaming giant Tencent wanted to conquer the western MMORPG market. However, the current numbers on Steam are disastrous shortly before the turn of the year.
  • The “The Outer Brood” update has gone live for EverQuest. Included: new zones, raids, missions, quests and collections. You can find an overview of all features on everquest.com.
  • In a new letter to the DC Universe Online community (via dcuniverseonline.com), executive producer Andre Emerson revealed the plans for the future of the MMORPG oldie. Above all, they want to change the structure of the story content and publish so-called story arcs in the future. The first arc is scheduled for January 2025.
  • On March 6, 2025, ArcheAge’s Korean servers will also close their doors (via mmorpg.org.pl).

  • The sandbox MMORPG Pax Dei continues to make noticeable progress in the early access phase. The next content update will introduce essential systems for a functioning player economy.
  • Pixelite Online, a new MMORPG, started free early access on Steam on December 5, 2024. You can currently expect the eponymous pixel graphics, 7 classes, the first two of four story chapters, crafting skills such as blacksmithing, PvE content and PvP. Early access is scheduled to run until the first quarter of 2026.
  • Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen will have a total of 22 servers when it launches in early access on December 13, 2024, but only one for the European region (via mmorpg.org.pl).
