President Nausėda calls on the Baltic States, Finland and Poland to cooperate in order to protect critical infrastructure.
President of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda stated on Friday that he considered it quite likely that the two sea cables damaged in the Baltic Sea last month were deliberately cut.
The communication cable between Lithuania and Sweden was damaged about three weeks ago, and the next day the sea cable between Finland and Germany was also broken.
Previously, among other things, the German Minister of Defense Boris Pistorius has said he suspects the damage was the result of sabotage.
Commenting on the matter on Friday, Nausėda urged the Baltic countries, Finland and Poland to cooperate in patrolling the Baltic Sea, in order to protect critical infrastructure.
