Pedestrian hit by tractor trailer on Highway 403 Police

A pedestrian was struck by a tractor-trailer early Thursday in Brant County.

Brant OPP say the collision happened just before 1 am on Dec. 5 at Highway 403 near Oak Park Road.

The highway was temporarily closed for a police investigation.

The pedestrian entered the roadway, according to police and, after the collision, was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are asking anyone who may have seen the collision or who has relevant information about it to contact them at 1-888-310-1122.

Suspicious man tried to enter Norfolk home: OPP

Ontario Provincial Police in Norfolk are hoping the public can help identify a man who they say attempted to enter a residence in Courtland.

At just before 5 pm on Wednesday, Dec. 4 police responded to suspicious person report on Talbot Street in Courtland.

Police investigation indicated that at about 4:15 pm, an unidentified male tried to enter a residence. He fled the scene on foot after failing to gain entry.

Police say the Caucasian male was wearing a baseball hat, a black coat, a gray hooded sweatshirt, dark pants, and brown boots at the time of the incident.

Norfolk County OPP is appealing to the public for information as part of this active investigation. Members of the public with information are urged to contact the police at 1-888-310-1122.
