In South Korea, thousands of protesters marched towards the presidential office | News in brief

Thousands of people marched in the center of Seoul, the capital of South Korea, towards the presidential office, says British broadcasting company BBC.

The protesters demanded the president Yoon Suk-yeol resign or face criminal charges. Yoon briefly declared a state of emergency in South Korea on Tuesday, during which the military tried to shut down the country’s parliament.

The BBC describes the group of protesters as loud and colorful.

Cries of “Fire Yoon Suk-yeol” are fresh, and protesters’ signs call for an end to Yoon’s reign. There is also a drum group.
