Duplantis gets to receive Swedish sports’ finest prize for the second time in his career, earlier in 2020, and that also means that he is done. A Swedish athlete can only receive the Bragdguldet twice during his career.
Trul’s nice answer
That makes Möregårdh extra happy, who now avoids the competition from the pole vaulting giant.
– Yes, it’s damn good that he’s gone because he’s hard to beat in any prizes at all. So it’s nice that he’s out of it, says Truls to SVT with a smile.
– He deserves it incredibly much. He is a fantastic athlete and an even better person who everyone in Sweden loves and looks up to in all sports. Very well deserved.

The 22-year-old from Eslöv is not particularly disappointed that he missed out on the prestigious prize after his two Olympic silver medals.
– No, I really am not. I am very happy about the Olympics and this year. This would have been the icing on the cake, but it’s not something I’m going to get hung up on. I’m still super happy, he tells the TV channel.
– At the same time, I know that two Olympic silvers are very difficult to achieve again and that is what will be required to get the Gold of Achievement. So the Swedish people must probably be very happy with the two silver medals, so we’ll see how many more medals there will be in the future. There is a chance for Olympic gold, sure. And then I’ll probably have that prize.
