Alarm about an explosion in Hässelby

Police and emergency services were called to a home in Hässelby in northwest Stockholm on Tuesday evening after several calls about a loud bang and explosion.
– It was a minor detonation that took place in close proximity to the door of the residence, says police spokesperson Rebecca Landberg.

The alarm about the explosion came in at 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday evening. No one is said to have been injured, but the detonation has caused damage to the facade of the home.

– It’s a big effort with a helicopter and blue lights. Both ambulances and police are on the scene, says a resident in the area to TV4 Nyheterna.

“Obviously they’re looking for someone”

The police are looking for a suspect or several suspected perpetrators in the area with, among other things, dog patrols.

– The witnesses have made observations that deviated from the normal, which led to the large search effort, says police spokesperson Rebecca Landberg.

– Several police cars driving back and forth at high speed. Obviously they are looking for someone, says a resident of the area.

– I had just put the children to bed and was met by flashing blue lights in the neighborhood that illuminate the whole house. The contrast between sleeping children, Advent candles in the windows and screaming sirens is so bizarre. And above all sad, says the person who lives in the area.

According to the police, it is too early to see or rule out possible connections to the earlier explosion in Farsta that evening.
