Path of Exile 2 enters Early Access on PC and PS5. MeinMMO has summarized all the information about the start, preload and costs for you.

When does Path of Exile 2 Early Access start? Path of Exile 2 Early Access starts on Friday, December 6th, 2024 at 8:00 p.m. It is expected to last until at least May 2025. PoE2 is expected to leave early access by the end of 2025 at the latest.

When does the preload start? If you want to download Path of Exile 2 in advance, you can do so. Different times apply to the platforms:

  • PC: The preload for Path of Exile 2 on the PC in the developers’ own launcher starts on Friday, December 6th at 2:00 a.m. German time.
  • Xbox: This is possible earlier for players on the Xbox; the game can already be downloaded here.
  • PS5: Anyone playing Path of Exile 2 on PS5 can download the game immediately as soon as the supporter packs are available in the store. This should probably happen on Thursday, December 5th at 8:00 p.m. German time.
  • Steam: No preload has been announced for Steam yet, but with a trick everyone who bought the game on Steam or Epic Games can still download it beforehand.
  • Epic Games: Again, no date has been announced for when the game can be pre-downloaded.

    Cost and availability on PS5

    How to buy Path of Exile 2 on PS5? On the PS5, PoE2 will only be available from December 5th at 8:00 p.m. You can’t buy the game before then.

    How much does Path of Exile 2 Early Access cost? Early Access costs at least €27.75 on the developers’ website. Depending on the platform, the prices vary by a few euros.

    What content can players expect? In Path of Exile 2, Acts 1-3 and the endgame will initially be available in Early Access. To compensate for the missing Acts 4-6, which are supposed to be available in the full version of the game, the developers have introduced Cruel Mode.

    Once you have completed Act 3, you will play through the game from Act 1 to Act 3 again in Cruel Mode, but this time the difficulty is higher than before. The campaign should last around 25 hours, then you have completed the first three acts.

    What is the maximum level? The level limit is level 100. After Act 3 has been completed in Cruel mode, you will be around level 65. From there it goes into the end game.

    What endgame content is available in Early Access? Instead of first developing all the acts and then concentrating on the endgame, the developers directly designed new and improved endgame game modes. Available from the start:

  • Trial of the Sekhemas: A challenge that will test your skill and patience until the endgame.
  • The Trial of the Chaos God: In the Vaal Jungle, you choose between sure rewards or riskier challenges to achieve greater rewards.
  • Expedition: An excavation adventure in which you explore ancient ruins using explosives, compete against the resurrected dead and collect valuable artifacts through increasing risks.
  • Ritual: You sacrifice the essence of defeated monsters at ritual altars to fight them again with increased strength and gain powerful rewards.
  • Delirium: A foggy chaos that leads you into nightmarish dangers where increasing risk beckons with increasingly rich rewards.
  • Pinnacle: A menacing fortress with a central flame maze that will test your skills.
