Israeli propaganda was spread by Swedish media
TV4 and Expressen’s news sites have published advertisements that discredit the UN aid agency for Palestine refugees, Unrwa, and allude to connections to Hamas, reports Sveriges Radio.
The ad depicts a masked man wearing a blue headband with the text “Unrwa” changed to Hamas’s green colors – followed by the message that the man is on Unrwa’s payroll, according to the radio.
“This is an ad that should never have been published,” says Karin Nyman, HR and communications director at TV4 to P3 Nyheter.
She states that the ad has been purchased via an ad network, which means that no human has been involved in the purchase, which is against the regulations for the purchase of so-called sensitive advertisements.
John Sjölund, sales director at Bonnier News, writes in an email to SR that their investigation of the incident shows that the ad was bought by the Israeli state. The ad is now removed on both sites.

Unique whale find – never seen in the wild
No one knows where they live, no one knows why they have never been seen in the wild, no one knows what they eat or what they sound like. But with a unique find, scientists now hope to get some answers about the world’s rarest whale, as the first-ever dissection of the species begins.
Only seven specimens of the species have been observed. Almost nothing is known about it. In July, a specimen of the unique beaked whale Mesoplodon traversii floated ashore in New Zealand and will now be examined.
– I cannot describe how unique this is. For me personally, it is completely incomprehensible, says Anton van Helden, marine biologist at New Zealand’s conservation authority.
The dissection he will perform is the first ever of a whale of the species. Previous specimens that have been found have been buried before they could be examined or DNA determined.
