The new hospital director Christophe Pedroletti at Karolinska University Hospital was involved in appointing his sister for a job within Region Stockholm, reports TV4.
At first the director said that he had not been involved in the recruitment, but then it emerges that a few weeks before the decision he himself announces the sister’s new position to two managers in an email that he calls “X”.
Christophe Pedroletti does not want to comment on why the email is called “X”.
– I was CEO of Danderyd hospital when it came to communication planning, but the decision where Corinne Pedroletti would work was handled at a higher level. I was never involved in it at all, he tells the channel.

Israeli propaganda was spread by Swedish media
TV4 and Expressen’s news sites have published advertisements that discredit the UN aid agency for Palestine refugees, Unrwa, and allude to connections to Hamas, reports Sveriges Radio.
The ad depicts a masked man wearing a blue headband with the text “Unrwa” changed to Hamas’s green colors – followed by the message that the man is on Unrwa’s payroll, according to the radio.
“This is an ad that should never have been published,” says Karin Nyman, HR and communications director at TV4 to P3 Nyheter.
She states that the ad has been purchased via an ad network, which means that no human has been involved in the purchase, which is against the regulations for the purchase of so-called sensitive advertisements.
John Sjölund, sales director at Bonnier News, writes in an email to SR that their investigation of the incident shows that the ad was bought by the Israeli state. The ad is now removed on both sites.

Unique whale find – never seen in the wild
No one knows where they live, no one knows why they have never been seen in the wild, no one knows what they eat or what they sound like. But with a unique find, scientists now hope to get some answers about the world’s rarest whale, as the first-ever dissection of the species begins.
Only seven specimens of the species have been observed. Almost nothing is known about it. In July, a specimen of the unique beaked whale Mesoplodon traversii floated ashore in New Zealand and will now be examined.
– I cannot describe how unique this is. For me personally, it is completely incomprehensible, says Anton van Helden, marine biologist at New Zealand’s conservation authority.
The dissection he will perform is the first ever of a whale of the species. Previous specimens that have been found have been buried before they could be examined or DNA determined.

Judge Stops Musk’s Giant Compensation – Again
A judge in the state of Delaware has once again stopped the giant compensation of 56 billion dollars (equivalent to 615 billion kroner) that Tesla founder Elon Musk was to receive from the company, reports Bloomberg.
Already in January, Judge Kathaleen McCormick stopped the compensation on the grounds that it was far too high.
This after a shareholder sued the company and its board, which had approved the compensation plan for Musk.
But at the meeting in June, the shareholders approved the payment.
Now, however, the judge continues to press the brakes on the grounds that the board was far too much under Musk’s influence when its decisions were made.

Major protests in Georgia
Thousands of people have once again gathered in the streets of Georgia to protest against the government’s decision to freeze talks on EU membership.
It is the fifth night in a row that people have protested.
Tens of thousands of people are outside the parliament building in Tbilisi, waving EU and Georgian flags, according to AP reporters.
Water cannons and tear gas are used against the protesters.
The Prime Minister claims that the protests are being financed “from abroad”, and promises that there “will be no revolution in Georgia”.
He also criticizes Western countries for not having condemned the protesters’ “organized violence”, when criticism has been raised about excessive violence by the Georgian police.
