Georgian protests continued Stubb spoke with President Zourabichvili News

Demonstrations in Georgia’s capital, Tbilisi, continued for the fifth night on Monday. According to eyewitnesses, thousands of people and plenty of police had gathered near the country’s parliament.

The prime minister representing the pro-Russian Georgian Dream party Irakli Kobakhidze reiterated again on Monday that he is not going to negotiate with the opposition on anything.

At the same time, he claimed that the EU process has by no means been shelved, but only delayed, and that efforts to join will continue with full force.

– I also want to remind everyone that there will be no revolution in Georgia, he assured.

It was the Georgian administration’s recent decision to delay EU membership negotiations until 2028 that set protesters in motion across the country.

The pro-EU president is not going to resign

President Zourabichvili supports the demonstrators in favor of rapprochement with the EU. He does not intend to resign from his post, although the Georgian parliament is scheduled to elect a new president for the country on December 14.
