Bryan Cranston still shares a touching connection with his Malcolm

Before Bryan Cranston rose to Hollywood’s top ranks and was showered with awards through Breaking Bad, he played the father in the popular 2000s sitcom Malcolm in the Middle. For over six years he was seen as the parent of protagonist Malcolm (Frankie Muniz) and his siblings. The close connection between the father and son actors has not been canceled to this day, as Muniz explained in a recent interview.

As Frankie Muniz now revealed to the Hollywood Reporter, Cranston is making sure that contact between the two does not break off, even almost 18 years after the end of the series:

He still contacts me every few weeks to check on me. He really cares about what I do, [er] comes to races. When my band played, he came to gigs. I mean, he’s such an inspiration and I wish I could be that for someone else in the future.

Even though Muniz appeared in numerous series and films after Malcolm in the Middle, the actor has mostly turned away from the industry in recent years and devoted himself to NASCAR racing. Here, too, he receives regular support from Cranston, whom he met when he was “11 or 12 years old” was:
