Istanbul Police Department, in a major operation, smuggled into the country illegally and whose market value is approximately 50 million lira took over the game consoles. This operation was an important step in preventing major damage that could be caused by products smuggled into the gaming world.

Anti-Smuggling Crimes Branch Directorate teams received a notice that game consoles brought from abroad illegally would be released into the market. Thereupon, the teams followed a truck carrying the products in question. The operation was carried out in Eyüpsultan and during the searches made in the TIR, a car with a market value of approximately 50 million lira was found. 3 thousand 500 game consoles, control handles and steering sets was seized.
One person was detained within the scope of this operation. By preventing the seized illegal products from being released to the market, a major economic damage was prevented.
Game consoles and equipment brought illegally not only cause tax losses to the state but also negatively affect the local market. The illegal sale of these products, which draw attention with their high market value, unfairly distorts the competition in the sector.
