She missed the World Cup premiere in Ruka.
Now Kristine Stavå’s Skistad is making a comeback.
The Norwegian is selected for the World Cup this weekend.
Just a few weeks ago, the Norwegian national ski team announced that the sprint star Kristine Stavå’s Ski City had stomach surgery. Then the announcement was that she will be gone indefinitely.
But now the Swedish national team riders have to watch out! The Norwegian is back in the national team again, ahead of this weekend’s sprint at the World Cup in Lillehammer, Norway.
– She is ready to compete. It’s very funny. That is a victory in itself, says her coach Created by Sofienlund to NRK.
Stavås Ski City is back
25-year-old Stavås Skistad underwent a sudden stomach operation in November and therefore missed the World Cup premiere in Ruka. It remains to be seen how well she has recovered.
– After such a period, Kristine’s form is certainly far from the best, but she is… sick in the head, so I think she can do a good ski race with the body she has, says ski coach Sofienlund.
