The search continues this Monday, December 2 to find Morgane Rivoal, 13 years old, missing for a week.

Morgane Rivoal, aged 13, is still nowhere to be found. Since November 25, numerous gendarmes, accompanied by a helicopter and a tracking dog, have been requisitioned to find the trace of the teenager, who disappeared last Monday. Friday, November 29, a large-scale search was organized to find her. Accompanied by around twenty gendarmes and volunteers, nearly 800 people were mobilized in Côtes-d’Armor, looking for any clue relating to his disappearance. Investigators worked in a search area between the Pro Park de l’En avant Guingamp in Pabu and the Albert Camus college in Graces, where the 13-year-old girl attends school. During the weekend, 50 gendarmes continued to patrol to try to find his trail, without result. This Monday, December 2, it has been just a week since she went missing.

A police control operation was deployed at 7 a.m. in the Rucaër area, in Pabu. Investigators want to question people who regularly pass through this area, but who have not yet spoken to the police. They could provide some information. The public prosecutor is giving a press conference to take stock of the investigation this Monday afternoon.

“She said goodbye to them as usual”

In principle, the young girl went on foot, then by bus to school from the family home located in the town of Pabu, a few kilometers north of Guingamp. Having left at 7:15 a.m., she never arrived there that day. “Her parents did not see her leave, busy getting ready, but she said goodbye to them as usual,” said the prosecutor.

At the same time, an investigation into a worrying disappearance was opened under the direction of the Saint-Brieuc public prosecutor’s office. The investigations were entrusted to the research brigade of the Guingamp gendarmerie company. As of Monday, the gendarmes hastened to broadcast a call for witnesses on social networks. According to prosecutor Nicolas Heitz, a dispute with his parents arose during the weekend which preceded his disappearance, particularly over the use of social networks. During “a heated discussion”, “her father allegedly broke his daughter’s mobile phone and took her SIM card”, he explained. According to the testimony of a friend of the teenager, the latter “was able to indicate on social networks that she would not come to class on Monday”. Sunday afternoon, Morgane stayed with her brothers and sisters in the family home while her father worked until the evening, outside the home. Even if her parents affirm that the teenager had never run away until now, for the gendarmerie forces, this hypothesis is undoubtedly the most probable.
