Johannes Lukas’ cocky reaction after the Swedish biathlon success

Four relays, two victories and two third places.
The World Cup premiere in biathlon could not have gone better for the Swedish team.
– Now we don’t have to sit and analyze a thousand things tonight, says national team coach Johannes Lukas.

Sweden won the opening single mixed relay with the A-team debutant Ella Halvarsson and Sebastian Samuelsson. Then there were third places in the mixed relay and in the men’s relay. And so the ladies had to finish with victory in their relay, with the junior Sarah Andersson in the team.

Johannes Lukas’ gratifying words after the premiere

The national team’s German coach John Luke was clearly pleased after the opening weekend. He says that this weekend’s result means a lot.
– Four podium places is big, and to finish with victory again is very big with a new line-up, he says of the women’s relay team.

– Now we can give the active a little space this evening and don’t have to sit and analyze a thousand things. Self-confidence comes easier now, it makes it easier in the future. We have received a good receipt, says Johannes Lukas and continues a bit cockily with a warning to all opponents:
– We knew we trained well, but it’s something else to train in Östersund versus facing the best. Now several other national teams have learned our new names and that they should keep an eye on us. We don’t have to keep tabs on everyone else.

Johannes Lukas wants to celebrate the triumph

He promises that there will be room for the riders to celebrate a little. They must allow themselves to indulge themselves, after such a colorful premiere weekend. The individual distances then continue on Tuesday.
– It won’t be long, we have to enjoy it. I travel around with this circus 200 days a year. If I don’t think it’s fun to celebrate, I will quit and change jobs, says Lukas.
