The alarm about the accident came at 22.06 on Sunday evening. At the height of Linderöd in Kristianstad municipality, a car had then overturned and gone off the road.
– The patrol on site has reported that there was lightning on the scene and thin ice on the road. We’ll see if we can find out what happened, says the police’s preliminary investigation manager Johan Berntsson to Kristianstadsbladet.

The children were under ten years old
The woman who died was in her 30s, the police write on their website. The two children were under ten years old, writes Expressen.
A man in his 40s also traveled in the car. He is being treated at the hospital in Kristianstad. According to Region Skåne, he has serious injuries.
The children were only found after the rescue operation had ended and the car had to be recovered, says the rescue manager in the municipality to Kristianstadsbladet. Press informant Jimmy Modin at the Skåne police command center cannot comment on that information.
– We will investigate the accident and that investigation will hopefully provide answers to how the accident happened and what happened, he says.
